The most sensible and easy-to-achieve solution for housing construction in southern Spain is the Passivhaus.
It is surpassed by the zero-energy house, whose external energy supply is completely covered by its own energy gain, e.g. from a PV solar system. This is the starting point and should be the basis of any sensible planning in southern Spain.
More than 20 years of experience in housing and the construction of large-scale industrial energy projects for thermosolar power plants have sharpened my understanding of technology. The use of technology plays a central role in the life cycle assessment of Passivhaus and zero-energy building. If its use is well-considered, it can offer people great added value, protect the environment and resources, integrate renewable energies.
Physics is the same all over the world. Unfortunately, the legislation to prove safety and hygiene standards is not. With many years of experience in international planning teams at home and abroad, I can support you in adapting your engineering to Spanish law and local guidelines.
